Appearance: Ryoku is an average looking man, with brown hair that falls down to the bottom of his chin and frames his face. He has friendly blue eyes, which retain a joy that many others have lost at his age. His face has soft features, which help reassure others and often makes him look weak. He doesn't mind though, it's just that he's so relaxed all the time.

His eyebrows are thin at the outer edges, and get thicker as you get closer to the bridge of his nose. They are well taken care of, as Ryoku likes to keep himself in good condition. He has all the time in the world, so he doesn't rush or hesitate to look good.

The general shape of his eyes are a bit wide with a definite arch to them to show the crystal clear gaze he possesses. The inner pupil is black, just like with anyone else, though his irises are a nice shade of blue. They are clear of any regrets.

His face is slightly narrow, with nice, developed cheek bones to support the smile he usually carries on his countenance. Speaking of his smile, his lips are slight and pale, taking on the color of his skin, which is a nice tan from working in the sun.He has a small upper lip, and his lower overshadows it just slightly.

His ears are pretty average. He has two of them, always has. The lobes hang at the right height for a person with his body and the ears themselves do not stick out. They are clean of any ear wax, and he keeps them that way meticulously. He likes to be able to hear from them, after all.

His neck is slight and slender, almost girly in a way. However, it just is less of a target that way, he believes. A smaller neck means there is less to cut, after all. There are no scars or blemishes on it.

His neck tapers out into a relatively supple shoulder, though it has some serious backing to it. Just because his fram is light does not mean he is weak. There are powerful muscles coiled in that slight body, just as any self-respecting Shinigami would have.

In the end, he wears the standard black uniform all Shinigami wear, plus whatever he needs for his position. That's really all there is to it.

Personality: Ryoku has a personality. He has feelings, thoughts, cares, concerns, emotions, everything really, just like you and me. He expresses them in various ways, learns from his mistakes, and sometimes forgets things and, like anyone else you and I know, he lives.

Yes, Ryoku does indeed have a personality. For example, shall I wax poetic about how kind he is? About how he is the type of person to sit down with the elderly, and let them know he cares? Or about how he'll watch over an injured comrade, even if he doesn't like them, and do his best to help save their life? Or perhaps about how he is the kind of person to rescue a kitten from a tree for a little girl? Yes, I could go on and on about how kind Ryoku is, but there is so much to cover here, and so little time!

As we've established, Ryoku has a personality. You've discovered through my words how he can be kind. Now you'll learn about how brave he is. For you see, Ryoku has a fear- the fear of rejection. He doesn't want everyone to turn their backs on him. He acknowledges this fear, and accepts it as part of him, and always tries to move on. There has been times when he had to face this fear. Such as about 800 years ago, actually. He had to choose, save his comrades life, or complete the mission. He knew that if he failed the mission, Soul Society would label him as a failure, and could reject him. With that horrible fate in store, he chose to save the life of his comrade, a man he didn't even like, for he had bullied Ryoku in the past.

Still, Ryoku isn't one to let things get under his skin. He will let bygones be bygones, and does not hold a grudge against anyone. It's not in his nature to do so. He'll readily forgive others for transgressions against him, seeing the good in everyone. However, hurt his friends, and you'd better make it up to them. He treats his friends like family. They mean a lot to him.

Anyway, back on track. Ryoku is also a very natural guy. he loves to relax and contemplate the world around him under the shade of a tree. Usually, he planted said tree himself at one point. For Ryoku is a gardener. He loves to cultivate life in all forms, and has grown parks full of plants and trees and bushes all over Seretei. His dream is to fill all of it up with nature, and he expects to be done in another 5000 years. He wants everyone to be able to eat the fruits of the trees he has grown himself ever since he first came here.

He is also highly curious. Ryoku will go through considerable means just to learn something new. He is of the opinion that there is always something new to learn, and goes about his life to find something every day. Over all, he is a very Zen fellow with a good head on his shoulders.

Once Upon A Time

History:
Ryoku died when he was 20 years old. Though he doesn't know it, he died protecting a child from execution for having stolen an apple from a tree that Ryoku himself grew. Thievery of any kind was a capital offense back then, it seemed. As the sword came down on the child, Ryoku threw himself in the way, taking the blow. Then, they killed the kid anyway. Hand in hand, he and the child were sent to the afterlife together by the a Shinigami married couple. It hurt his should that such a thing happened, but he didn't remember it when he got there. He was still holding the kids hand, though.

All he knew was that he wanted to protect this child. He didn't know why, but he just went with the flow. They were going to stick together for better or for worse. Soon, he was able to build a small shack out of loose wood that was laying around for him and the kid, who's name was Manabo. Ryoku managed to get a job. It was crap, doing heavy manual labor for super cheap, but it managed to get them food. And boy, did they need to eat! He had heard that you never got hungry in Heaven as a child, but they were wrong. Him and the kid needed to eat near constantly.

After about twenty years of living like this, they were approached by a shinigami. The bald headed man had invited them both to attend the Academy. Eagerly, they accepted, ready to get out of this hell hole and into a better life. In the Academy, Ryoku was fairly average in all fields, not standing out in one or the other. Manabo, however, was excellent at everything. No matter what it was, he excelled. Ryoku was so proud of him. They went through the Academy slowly, taking time to soak up what they could, before Ryoku was placed on the fourth division after he displayed an uncanny knack for healing kido, and the boy he thought of as son was placed in the first. He was so proud of him!

Time passed, about 100 years, to be exact. He had been in the afterlife for 120 years now. His training was generally complete, and he just had to do what he needed and train on the side. Of course, Ryoku always did his best, no matter what. He took to planting gardens in his spare time, so that the people out there wouldn't have to go hungry. The idea caught on, and more andm ore gardens sprung up. He always left a personal shrine to his goddess Ran-Ran at each one, though. He could do no less.

One day, after the 120 years, he was on a mission with Manabo, who was a third seat now! There were a bunch of Hollows that needed to be cleansed. He was sent as medical support, just in case. He never knew just how much he would be needed. In the end, he held Manabo's dying body in his arms as he cried desperately into his son. Manabo's last words were, "I love you, Daddy..." then nothing. Manabo was gone. Ryoku then unleashed his Shikai an eliminated all the hollows himself with extreme prejudice. He, with the other Shinigami went home a bit hollow inside.

Another 380 years pass. Ryoku is now 500 years old. He's been in the human world, doing Watch Duty. His cover is the nurse of a high school. There was a particular student whom he felt close to, a girl named Atlacia. She was abused at home by her mother. Her dad was a drunk. She was bullied in class. He was the only one who was there for her, though she didn't really care. Then, one day, she didn't wake up. it was at the end of his duty, and she had died. Solemnly, he greeted her Plus. He explained she was dead, and how he was a shinigami. He sent her to the afterlife, and then kept tabs on her.

He was pleasantly surprised when she showed potential. She became a member of the Kido Corps, and was a valued member of Seretei. Then, she became his wife, later on. He had never expected this to happen, to be honest. They had gotten drunk on one of the rare times he got drunk, on their shared birthday, and had sex. That lead to another thing and eventually they got married. Sadly, it would not be a happy marriage. She was pregnant, but it was a miscarriage.

In the end, they had 27 miscarriages and 5 stillbirths. Eventually, she cheated on him after a big fight they had where she kicked his ass after they argued over the idea that she needed to stop going on missions when with child. She refused, and they always ended up fighting. The man she cheated on him with ended up knocking her up too! Later on, through horrible means, she became a vizared. He heard she betrayed the SS, though, and was saddened and it was the only grudge he ever held. 300 years passed with no trace of her. It turned out, however, that she had given birth to twins. The first born was the other mans. The second ended up being his. They were highly protective and the firstborn, Scorpius, was incestuous. When Ryoku eventually found her, there were fights, but they got together again. The children hated him, and always tried to break them up.

Scorpius even used transformative powers to become Ryoku and tricked Atty into sleeping with him. There was a lot of chaos. Eventually, Atlacia died in his arms by his children's hands. He ended up killing them in the end. He buried his long lost wife who still had his ring after all this time and his only children. Then, he moved on.

it took a long time, but he did move on. He became Lieutenant, got stronger, trained hard, and lived his life to the fullest in her memory. He didn't stagnate, but used his past as motivation to do better in the future. For that's what he did best, after all. So much time has passed since then, but these memories will always be in his heart.

Sorry man, We can't have Lt.s starting at Elite rank. If you want to be an Lt. on par with a Captain, then obtain the perks you need in order to. But as far as rank by app goes, nope, putting in an 'Elite' standard work gives you access to an Elite or lower, not a lower with Elite power.

Well, there's no limit to creativity, we don't want people to nerf their descriptions and such just so they can pick a lower rank, creativity is creativity, if people want to put in extra amounts, they're free to do so, doing such can give them the option to get a higher rank, but that doesn't mean they have to.
