Behind the mask that is his grin is a handsome face, which causes others to be curious about the man. It is especially welcoming for most women, who're easily captivated by Izanagi's visage. Izanagi has long snow white spiky mane like hair. His hairstyle is that of a long faux Mohawk, and as stated his hair color is white in color. Izanagi’s hair is spiky for the most part, despite having a faux Mohawk hairstyle. The hair on the side of his head is shorter compared to the hair atop of his head. Izanagi’s hair also extends long enough to stretch beyond his shoulders and into his back. A set of 5 black hairpieces are worn by Izanagi, usually sitting atop of his head, mingling with his hair and reaching the back of his head. The hairpieces are very much the same as Byakuya’s hairpieces as seen in the most recent Manga chapters of Anime. The Shinigami has a pair of menacing crimson eyes, appearing most fearsome and cold. Beneath Izanagi’s left eye is a tattoo of a teardrop, that sometimes become a focal point for others to stare at.

The appearance and demeanor of the Shinigami can make him most intimidating based on these simple attributes alone.

Upper body: Izanagi sports a pair of black collars with red outlines around his neck, the pair of collars are spiky, often resembling dog collars if you will, lending more to his persona as a brute from the 11th Division. Izanagi sports a Shihakusho that fits closely to his body unlike the type loosely fitted that most others wear. The Shihakusho of course has long sleeves and as anyone would expect it is also black. The Shinigami of course wears the typical Hakama like most other Shinigami does. A pair of black gloves is worn by Izanagi with black sandals on his feet. The Shinigami wears a blue obi sash around his waistline. Over this black Shihakusho of his, Izanagi wears a modified Hoari. The Haori has a rather high collar, with red edges to it, and with a pair of black tassels attached to the corners of the collar. The Haori that Izanagi sports if a sleeveless one, with the bottom of the Haori being rather ragged. The Haori is modified or unique in the sense that, it has Grey wolf like fur on the shoulders and upper back. The Shinigami stands at 6'6 in height, and is of a muscular built. A most brutish body, chiseled to perfection, designed for the 11th Division.

Personality: Jushiro Izanagi is a most unorthodox individual, often seen with a fox grin adorning his face. The man is as intelligent, perceptive and sometimes as manipulative as any other. There is also the brutish side to the Shinigami which shines through the most especially in battle situations. Izanagi welcomes the idea of a good fight, as would any warmonger living throughout the realms. The laughing fox knows not what it means to have fear, mercy is not a part of him. Cowardice is never a welcome sight in the eyes of the laughing fox. The man was baptized in battle from a very young age, and many would often say that he simply lives to fight. In contrast to all of this, there is another side to Izanagi, which revolves around the fact the he is quite calculating. As much as the fox faced man loves battle, he also knows when to pick his fights.

There is also an uncertainty when it comes to his sincerity; his calculative and perceptive persona makes him a force to be reckoned with. Being a two face as they say Izanagi may at times finds he can be rather moody. And at other times demonstrating traits of someone with a warm heart. Izanagi can sometimes be seen as a sort of recluse, opting to do things in private rather than out in the open. If one were to ignore the fickle and despicable side of the Shinigami. They would come to find that he is quite intelligent and head strong. His intelligence revolves around his leadership and his ability to make what he deems to be the correct decision. He is the type that demands respect and obedience from his subordinates. Jushiro is the type of person that knows when to be serious and when to indulge in light comedic situations. His frivolous nature may see him become as carefree as any other who shares a similar trait.

Blood thirsty, violent and quite mad are some of the words used to describe Izanagi. The laughing fox is constantly training to improve himself. In battle is where the man test his limits, always believing that he can always improve. Izanagi can often be seen as your typical barbarian, he seeks to conquer, kill, ravage, destroy and take as many women as possible. A womanizer is what this soldier of war is. Izanagi is not one to be ruled by his emotions, he can be quite the obnoxious soul. He curses and sometimes does the most obscene of things. Izanagi’s language and words often used to describe another or to even insult them can bring about anger in those assaulted by his words or even great laughter. Apart from all this, the fox takes great pride in himself and his responsibilities as a member and leader of one of the Gotei 13 squads. One would never think it, but he believes in justice, and those whom aim to slight the justice of the world must be punished. He keeps a watchful eye on everything to do with the Soul Society and realms far and wide.

Jushiro would rather die trying to protect the soul society, than to bow down to another foreign soul aiming to ravish his homeland. He is a man that believes in the old ways of the Gotei, as such, with Jushiro at the helm of the Gotei’s leadership. He brings about great pride in everyone, almost forceful in his demands for everyone to improve their skills. Even with all this, Jushiro Izanagi likes to indulge in liquor, and this man simply cannot get enough of the opposite sex.

Once Upon A Time

History:

The story of Jushiro Izanagi is unlike the stories of other Shinigami or some of the inhabitants of Soul Society; Izanagi doesn't remember living a life as a human. And so telling a tale of his life as a human would be impossible, the man is a pure blood Shinigami so to speak. The man remained untainted by the soul burial technique administered by other Shinigami for the departed souls. One could easily say life was rough for the future Shinigami, growing up in one of the poorest districts that Rukongai had to offer. As such, Izanagi knew what it meant to felt the pain of loss and how to live with it. The earlier years of the Shinigami consists of his baptism, in which he would often use the blood of his enemy and numerous opponents to carry out the act. A tormented soul he was, one that knew few little pleasures in life, which forced him to find pleasure in being a brute, a warmonger constantly seeking battle. It didn’t take Izanagi long to develop a reputation among the known warriors of the numerous districts. The young Izanagi was no doubt ambitious and was constantly seeking to improve himself. By the time Izanagi had become a man, he was already boasting a ridiculously vast amount of spiritual pressure, enough to constantly attract attention. He possessed a power that was often uncontrollable and still unknown to the man that received the nickname, the laughing fox.

Izanagi sought to travel to the other districts, with his reputation often guaranteeing a safe passage. There were however times when the laughing fox had to prove his worth, and live up to his reputation. And as such, he was often called into battle and ever so often he would leave his opponents in a pool of blood. Izanagi by now had in his possession a katana that would serve as his Zanapakuto in the years to come. The laughing fox during his travels heard whispers of more powerful foes, and every now and then he would go forth and seek them out. The idea was to test his limits, he cared not if he lived or die, since death to him was simply another part of life. His entire existence was without meaning and without any true purpose, at least nothing that most would deem honorable. Izanagi knew only to fight, not realizing that his true potential remained untapped. In essence, he was powerful and at the same time a weakling and didn't even know it. The man needed to discover the true meaning behind his existence, and so he kept on moving, constantly searching for meaning. Years went by and Izanagi, the laughing fox, the fox, the womanizer, the conqueror of men found himself in the presence of a man far more powerful than he was. This man would prove to be just what Izanagi had been searching for so long. The laughing fox would soon become a Shinigami and he didn’t even know it.

His journey like most didn’t start with his introduction into the Shinigami Academy. Instead it began with his time spent in Rukongai learning a few things from a man known to him as the hermit. The man was a swordsman that possessed strange abilities, someone Izanagi suspected to be a former Shinigami. The problem is that Izanagi didn't have any real proof connecting the man to the Shinigami other than a sword. Having come across the so called hermit, Izanagi did as he always did and that was to challenge another. The laughing fox realized that he had finally met his match, a man who was far more powerful than he was. Capable of taking everything that Izanagi had to offer and gave back so much more. The battle went on and Izanagi figured more or less that the hermit was merely toying with the soon to be Shinigami. The laughing fox was brought to his knees for the first time in battle, and was even ready to accept death. The man was actually yearning for his opponent’s blade to slit his throat, or for the man to cleave his head from his body. His fox grin grew wide in anticipation of the moment that would never arrive much to Izanagi’s disappointment. The old hermit instead negotiated with the stubborn barbaric brute and even managed to convince him. The hermit made suggestions of Izanagi joining the Gotei 13 squads, even informing the laughing fox that he would find plenty powerful opponents like himself. That, and the hermit noticed that Izanagi was an empty shell, and with bold words, the hermit opened Izanagi’s eyes to the truth. The fox faced man came to realize that he was indeed lacking in purpose, and by joining the Gotei 13, he would possibly find his reason for existing in the first place. The defeated Izanagi agreed and so began his work to become a Shinigami. The laughing fox had found someone that he could look up to for the first time in his life and for that he was grateful.

Izanagi started off by training his body first and foremost, he needed discipline also if he was to succeed on his mission. The would be Shinigami desired the blade but sadly began his life as a swordsman with a Bokken. Learning the different ways in which to wield the sword or Bokken so to speak. Despite Izanagi’s existing skill with the sword, the hermit saw fit to have the man start from square one. He was now Izanagi’s sensei and the fox was a loyal and dedicated student. An important lesson were to taught and would be learned in due time. Rukongai was a harsh place to live in, a place where the lives of others doesn't seem to mean anything. Souls from the realm of the humans were promised a better or peaceful life. But once they had arrived in Soul Society everything just seems as if it had gotten worst. Watching the soul after soul fade away before him, the more determine the young man had become. Over time he began learning more and more about Reiatsu and the other abilities that came along with it. Izanagi was progressing rapidly, absorbing the information and learning a lot from his first ever sensei. This training began to put things into perspective for Izanagi, which in turn helped to shape the man or warrior he would become in the future.

Over the years of spending time and learning from the Hermit, Izanagi was finally given the opportunity to wield his very own Zanapakuto. His blade was finally given back to him, but by then, Izanagi was even more lethal with it now than he had ever been. He still had a long way to go but he was slowly beginning to discover his inner self. Izanagi had spent over ten years as a student of the hermit and had learned as much as he could. But it was time for him to move on or rather take the next step towards becoming a Shinigami. Making his way to the Shinigami Academy, Izanagi found some things to be different according to what he was taught by the hermit. The man decided not to teach him every little thing but rather gave him a few pointers. This way Izanagi would struggle and overcome, perhaps this way his accomplishments would mean more to him. That however didn't stop him from showing off his prowess which placed him above the rest. The man was dubbed a prodigy being able to grasp things a lot easier than others. Izanagi indeed had talent but he also had a head start which wasn't fair for some. But never once did he ever purport himself as being better than the other students around him. As a result of his skills set the laughing fox was placed in the advance classes of the Academy . The would be Shinigami tried his best to master all forms of combat at his current level at the time. But recognized that this was just the beginning of his journey towards greatness.

The laughing fox did his research before graduating from the academy, and realized that the Juuichibanti would be the ideal division for him. However, he didn’t go in as a mere seated officer; he was drafted directly as the Fuku Taicho, having defeated the previous Fuku Taicho in a most brutal manner. The current Captain at the time bore witness to the battle and deemed it a fair contest. As such, Izanagi took the post of the second in command of the 11th division, effectively making others wary of his strength and potential. Izanagi possessed a vast amount of spiritual pressure, and even though the laughing fox made attempts to control it. He could never fully seal his reiatsu, not until the later years and even now the man struggles at times. The fox faced brute would continue to improve and increase his strength, and within years of serving as a Lieutenant. Izanagi had obtained his Bankai in a short space of time, and would train even longer to master his blade. However, being the type of person that he is, Izanagi saw no reason to follow a Captain that was weaker than he was. This brought about an open challenge, which was often the way 11th Division Captains were chosen. And in front of a large gathering of witnesses, both of the lowest and highest order, Izanagi defeated his Captain in battle and so took his place as the new Kenpachi of the 11th Division. This accomplishment truly marked a new beginning in the life of the laughing fox. The man would remain as the Kenpachi for years to come, becoming more and more famous. Jushiro had come to father many a children, and as his name became more famous. So too did his blood and the man children that followed.
