What is Soul Currency?

SC, short for Soul Currency, refers to the points we use on this forum. They are gained through various methods and can be used to buy various updates or equipment for our characters. Their uses aren't limited only for improving our characters though. Some users may sell art in exchange for Soul Currency for example. This thread exists to explain how you can gain SC and how you can use it on this forum.

How to Gain SC

As stated before, there are various ways of gaining SC. The main methods will be listed below, but aren't necessarily limited to only these. These are only the common ways of attaining more SC. When gaining SC through a special method, one must post an Update in the Character Update section to reclaim them.

Posting: This is probably the easiest and most common way of gaining SC. By posting IC, you will automatically gain SC for every post you make. Currently every user will gain 3  SC for making a post IC, and 4 SC for making a new subject.

Missions: Another common and in some cases easy way of gaining SC is doing missions. They will be designated by the Race Leader or the leaders of the organization you are a part of. Some missions will also be given out by Anonymous Agents. The pay of every mission varies, as does their goal and will be explained within the mission briefing.

Killing: We do not endorse killing the characters of others, but victory and survival over others will still be rewarded. It's only fair for putting out a certain amount of work. Do not go randomly attacking others. We like to develop good plots, that sometimes may involve fighting, but we do not promote randomness.

Elite Kill Rewards
Elite Kills Non-Elite = 15 points
Elite Kills Semi-Elite = 30 points
Elite Kills Elite = 60 points

Semi-Elite Kill Rewards
Semi-Elite Kills Non-Elite = 20 points
Semi-Elite Kills Semi-Elite = 40 points
Semi-Elite Kills Elite = 70 points

Non-Elite Kill Rewards
Non-Elite Kills Non-Elite = 25 points
Non-Elite Kills Semi-Elite = 50 points
Non-Elite Kills Elite = 85

Bounties: Some notorious people might be assigned with Bounties. These Bounties will usually be quite high, when compared to the points one can usually gain through missions or killing. At the beginning of the site no bounties will be put in place, and there most likely won't be any for quite a while.

Contests: Sometimes the staff might feel like holding a contest of some sort. The winners of these contests or those who did particularly well will have a chance of winning SC and other related perks. So it might be wise to participate in them, whenever someone from the staff is feeling nice.

Special Days: A rare occurrence, so much that you're better off not counting on it. There might be a special day, or the entire staff might decide to reward the users of the site for their patronage. This means that some people who have done good for the site, or just about everyone will gain a small reward for their efforts.

Other Methods: Who knows, there could be other ways of gaining SC, but they will remain secret, unmentioned or even uninvented for now.

How to Use SC

The use of SC depends on what you use it on. If you buy a new technique, kido or such you first have to post the new technique up where it belongs. Techniques go along your ability, new custom kido, cero or ginto go into your list of known kido, cero or ginto. After you have posted it up and a member of the staff has approved it, you first have to train it. After the training has been approved, you have to post a Character Update stating what you bought, a link to the topic where you bought it and how many points it cost. After all of this is done, you are free to use your new technique or piece of equipment whenever you want. No matter what you buy, the Character Update is always required to let the staff know what needs to be done.

Bankai Cost and Requirement:

The Bankai (卍解, Final Release) is the second and final upgraded form of a Zanpakutō.  To achieve Bankai, one must be able to materialize and subjugate their Zanpakutō spirit. Materialization means the opposite of getting dragged into the Zanpakutō's inner world: the wielder needs to summon the Zanpakutō's spirit into the physical world. It usually takes 10 years or more to achieve, plus the experience needed to master it.

Important Notice:

To have achieved Bankai means your character is either a Captain, or well on the way to being on the same plateau as a Captain. The idea of being Captain level doesn't put you on par with another Captain. Contrary to popular belief, achieving Bankai doesn't automatically put you on par with a Captain either.

Requirement: A Shinigami hoping to obtain Bankai must have Level 3 in Reiatsu/Spiritual Pressure. And in addition, must have Level 3 in two other skill set. There are also two levels of Bankai (Incomplete and Mastered Bankai).

Incomplete Bankai: An incomplete Bankai is one such Bankai that was newly achieved or recently gained by a Shinigami. This lack of mastery and true understanding of the Bankai, can put the Shinigami utilizing it at risk. Which is why, it is said that no Bankai without proper years of training and experience should ever be used in battle. From a Manga perspective, upon til recently, Hitsugaya could be said to have possessed an incomplete or weak Bankai. Same goes for Renji during the first time he had achieve Bankai, along with a few others. (Incomplete Bankai can be maintained for 8 Posts max during combat. Should be used as a last resort, for the Shinigami using it during battle). A further cost of 450 Soul Currency must be paid before your character can begin training for Bankai.
A 1.5k word training session must be done, preferably In character.

Mastered Bankai: A Mastered Bankai is one such Bankai that a Shinigami has full control over, and a greater deal of understanding. At this point, a Shinigami is truly one with their Zanapakuto spirit. This is when a Lieutenant knows they're now ready to take up the position of Captain. Likewise, a Captain with a mastered Bankai knows they're in such a position for a reason. A further 450 Soul Currency must be paid to begin training to Master one's Bankai. Another 1k Word training session must be carried out In Character.

Note: There can be no skipping of one level to another. A Shinigami must first achieve Bankai via the incomplete methods, before moving on to master it. The training cannot be done in one session. A Shinigami must have had an incomplete Bankai for one RL Month. And must have used it at least 3 times, before even training to master one's Bankai.

Canon and Custom Race Techniques

Shinigami Techniques

¬Name: Ikkotsu (一骨, "Single Bone")
¬Style: Physical, Unarmed.
¬Effect: A powerful punch used to cause a considerable amount of damage to the intended target. It is strong enough to cause internal damage to the body. Sending someone flying a fair distance away. It is a very formidable technique, even at this point. The person using the technique, must tense their muscles before attacking their opponent. This technique is not for those with feeble bodies. Its a style more suitable for brutish warriors.
Preparation: N/A
Usage: 1 turn
Cooldown: 1 turn
Requirement: See Hakuda Augmentation Rules

¬Name: Sōkotsu (双骨, "Double Bone")
¬Style: Physical, Unarmed.
¬Effect: A powerful double fisted punch delivered to a opponent that delivers incredible crushing and breaking force into their entire major bones. At its strongest form, this power can shatter and break an opponent in half, faster than an opponent has time to react to the pain. It is so strong that two fist shaped impressions are smashed into the land behind the opponent, giving it the title, “Double Bone”. Must have purchased everything, Level 3, Bronze and Steel Skin, and Ikkotsu.
Preparation: N/A
Usage: 1 turn
Cooldown: 2 turns

¬Name: Ryōdan (両断, "Bisection")
¬Style: Physical, Armed.
¬Effect: Ryodan is the epiphany of the Kendo fighting style, which involves holding one’s sword with both hands. It is a two-handed sword technique that has the practitioner bring the sword down with enough force that it can cut an opponent in half right down the middle. The force from the swing releases pent up Reiatsu that was channeled by the wielder into the blade. With this much force, a great deal of damage can be caused. Enough to defeat a strong opponent with a mere swing.

Preparation: N/A
Usage: 1 turn
Cooldown: 1 turns
Requirement: Level 3 in Zanapakuto/Zanjutsu.

¬Name: Senmaioroshi (千枚卸, "Thousand-Page Wholesale")
¬Style: Physical, Armed.
¬Effect: Senmaioroshi is a technique where multiple blade movements take place so fast that they can literally shred a target into pieces. The wielder can choose to use either both hands or just one. The technique requires great precision and agility in order to perform. With this technique, opponents may find it difficult to keep up with the blade’s rapid movements. This is of course if they lack the necessary skill level to deal with such a technique. Such as being of the same level of skill. A level two may find it difficult defending against this technique unscathed. A level 1 in Zanapakuto will encounter the same issues, perhaps worse.
Preparation: N/A
Usage: 1 turn
Cooldown: 1 turn
Requirement: Must be at least Level 3 in Zanapakuto. Costs 150 SC.

¬Name: Oni Dekopin (鬼デコピン, "Oni Headpoke")
¬Style: Physical, Unarmed.
¬Effect: Oni Dekopin is a technique where a simple finger flick has enough physical force to send an opponent flying a considerable distance away, even with enough power to crash through multiple physical constructs, while causing physical damage to them. In order to pull this off, the user has to concentrate Reiatsu around of his hand considerably.
Preparation: N/A
Usage: 1 turn.
Cooldown: 1 turn.
Requirement: Level 3 in Hakuda. Costs 150 SC.

¬Name: Raiōken (雷王拳, "Thunder King Fist")
¬Style: Physical, Unarmed.
¬Effect: Raiōken is a master hakuda technique involving a series of rapid punches. Using this technique, the combatant is capable of causing a lot of damage to both their target and portions of the immediate area. In the Manga Yoruchi was able to severely crack Aizen's first form and destroyed a portion of Karakura Town in the process.
Preparation: N/A
Usage: 1 turn
Cooldown: 2 turns
Requirement: Must have Level 3 in Hakuda. Costs 200 SC.

----------------------------------------------

Arrancar Techniques

¬Name: Fractura (Bone Fracture)
¬Style: Physical, Unarmed.
¬Effect: A brutal physical attack focused on overwhelming the enemy. An Arrancar using Fractura will draw his arm back and focus a huge amount of power into his arm. The palm thrust released from this stance will have tremendous force, capable of causing a small shockwave and sending the target flying far away. A direct hit from this attack to the stomach can make an opponent spill his dinner out and lose consciousness, unless he has great endurance and physical strength. Nonetheless, a hit will cause great damage, pain and most likely fractures. Physically draining on the user.
Preparation: N/A
Usage: 1 turn
Cooldown: 1 turn
Requirement: Must have level 3 in Hakuda. Costs 100 SC.

¬Name: Raspa Lanza (Bone Lance)
¬Style: Physical, Unarmed.
¬Effect: A brutal physical attack focused on overwhelming the enemy. One could call this a superior form of Fractura. This attack differs, in that the user will pull back both his arms, focusing power in both of his palms. After the stance is taken and the preparation is done, the user can lunge forward at huge speeds, releasing an immensely powerful palm thrust at the opponent with both of his hands. Contact with this attack will release a proper shockwave, sending the opponent tumbling away violently. A direct, unguarded hit from this can be truly lethal. At the very least the damage done will be considerable. While it has awesome power, it is entirely possible to dodge or prevent in other ways. The strain caused on the users body by this attack can leave him panting for a short while, catching back his breath.
Preparation: N/A
Usage: 1 turn
Cooldown: 3 turns
Requirement: Must have Level 3 in Hakuda. Costs 150 SC. Must have also know Fractura.

Updated.

The Soul Currency system is now accessible. More to be added to it.

There are techniques missing prices. That's because they've been taken care of in the race information topic.
