Shinigami - Yashakoi

Memories of his past life had long been forgotten when the youth had become conscious of his surroundings. The memory lost resulted in the freshly deceased boy to stand in Rukongai confused, lost and, without a name. At a loss of where and, even who he was the youth stood puzzled in the middle of the busy road he had to his knowledge, magically appeared in. There was a bustling air around him. People bumped passed him trying to get to their destination, vendors were stationed at the opposite ends of the busy street haggling with would be costumers about prices, one merchant specifically was chasing off a group of beggar children away from his stall. The nameless boy pieced together that the group of children had apparently stolen a few of his goods and, the man was deservedly quite unhappy about it. The vendor had somehow grouped the nameless boy with the thieves and as a result, to the newly deceased youth's cause of alarm, began to chase after him as well. In the ensuing confusion of being chased and, threatened the nameless youth found himself following the group of thieves to escape from his pursuer. After the success of fleeing from the merchant and, the adrenaline had subsided the nameless boy found himself surrounded by the unknown faces of boys and, girls his age. They gave off questioning looks at this new boy who had managed to follow them into their makeshift base. The nameless you tried to explain his situation but, by the inquiring looks that were given, it seemed that his excuses fell on deaf ears. It wasn't until the eldest looking of the group, had spoken highly on the nameless boy's speed and, how he was able to follow so closely, did the other member's of this group of kids of various children ease their tensions. Little did the newly deceased boy know that it was this event that resulted in how he would grow up and, eventually end up as a captain of the Gotei Thirteen.

The ragtag group of children had quickly brought the nameless boy into their fold and, even had given him a name. Yashakoi, was the new name given to the youth and although, he didn't know the reason behind the choice for it in the end he was happy to have it. Yashakoi would live out most of his adolescence with this tight knit crew, playing games together, sleeping in the same cramped room together and, working together to make money for food. As a result of money becoming scarce and, to little to feed them was when they would steal food to share amongst each other. It was during these raids where Yashakoi's life and that of his brethren were put at the most risk. Seeing that, Yashakoi was living in one of the more dangerous districts of Rukongai where law's were loosely enforced and as a result, capture usually meant the lost of a limb or, even worse death. So with the possible dangers known, Yashakoi as well as his ragtag group tried their best to be as sneaky and, unseen when trying to carry off with any goods. In the end however, not all members of his group were able to escape from being captured and as a result, meant that there would be one last person to break bread at the end of the day. This way of life constantly repeated itself day after day until, Yashakoi found himself surrounded by only with a few friends that paled in comparison to the number they once were. There was no possible way that the youth and, his remaining rabble of companions to could keep on living off of constantly needing to struggle to survive, it was a futile attempt to carry on that would eventually like his many friends before, cost him his own life. Not wanting to end up like those he's seen come and, go Yashakoi did what he could only do, which was move on from where he currently lived. With remaining friends in tow, Yashakoi decided to advance towards the the more controlled and, easier to possibly live in parts of the Rokungai and, it was this move that led the youth closer to his evident road towards becoming a part of one of the noble houses in the entire Soul Society.

Living now in a more peaceful and, lawful district the remaining band of children found that although, they were still living poor, it became easier to manage life. It didn't take Yashakoi and, his friends to make some profit seeing that, they began to perform small errands for merchants and, other artisans as a means to make money for themselves. One merchant who Yashakoi personally did jobs for in particular found the youth to be quite useful. The man believing he had found someone who was dependable in Yashakoi chose to officially offered to take him in as an apprentice. The youth had agreed quickly, seeing the merchant's proposal as a way to finally better his life. The boy slowly came to learn the ins and, outs of business from his new teacher, who to the youth's surprise was a member of the Nakimana family, one of the great noble houses in Soul Society. The merchant had the male not only run errands surrounding business but, also began lending the boy to his relatives whom were looking for someone to perform small tasks for them. The youth soon found himself because, of his constant interactions with the Nakimana house, began to be enveloped in the world of the aristocratic class. Seeing his brief interactions with the other members of the Nakimana family as a way to further his knowledge on the politics of the aristocrats and, so made sure to listen to conversations between members or, asked a question himself on a certain topic. The youth had begun to catch the eye of the more respected members of the Nakimana clan, for his unusually good mannerisms that would make one think he was from the noble class and, began to entrust him with more important tasks. Seeing the boy's gradual acceptance into his family, the merchant had come to the conclusion of adopting Yashakoi into the family because, he believed that someone with such diligence and, hard work ethic would make a good contribution to the Nakimana family. The other members after hearing their fellow family member's proposal of adopting Yashakoi into family had come to the same conclusion of the merchant's, which was the overall belief that they may have found a boy who was worthy of carrying the name of Nakimana. Once more, Yashakoi agreed and, so they had quickly adopted the youth into their family. However, the outlook for his future would become a complete turnaround from how he started, splitting from the friends he grew up with was difficult for Yashakoi but, with their encouragement he was able to move forward. The thought of being a noble felt unfitting to the youth seeing that, he was mostly living on the streets struggling for a way to survive for most of his life. So Yashakoi now felt a strange comfortably and, ease that he was never believed possible. Of course, he wouldn't let this new found haven to inflate his ego. No, instead he would use this new found standing as a way to better not only himself but the entire Soul Society.

Although difficult at first, Yashakoi bega to learn steadily in the politics of aristocratic life. Even more so then when he did from the brief eavesdropping of conversations and, brief conversations the youth had before becoming a full fledged member of the Nakimana family. As the male slowly became accustomed to the life of a noble, he began to become capable of keeping an intelligent conversation going with others of higher stations and, by changing the way he interacted with others, Yashakoi began to carry himself like a noble should. Playing the politics that came with the intrigue of aristocratic life, even became one of the youths strong suits. However, all these growing accomplishments or, the progress Yashakoi made paled in comparison to male's aptitude for becoming a Shinigami. After going through nights of repeating a dream where he would be engulfed by nothing but, dark waters with and hearing only distant, inaudible voice it came to the conclusion that Yashakoi was exhibiting unintentional signs of communicating with his Zanpaktou spirit. The man, after being advised to do so had chosen to enroll into the academy as a  to harness this new found power. The would be Shinigami had showed a promise or aptitude in becoming a capable Shinigami of the Gotei Thirteen and, was generally known as one of the better of the crop of students. With his unforeseen talent, it wasn't long that Yashakoi graduated from the academy and, was even able to show enough capability like with the rest of top crop of his class to be made a seated officer right after graduation. Yashakoi, upon having his overall skills gauged was put into the Second Division for his ability for stealth and, reconnaissance. It wasn't long for the new Shinigami to rise to the rank of third seated officer in the Second Division where he remained diligently until after much dedicated service was appointed as the Lieutenant for the Fourth Division for showing a leaning towards healing abilities. Yashakoi held the rank of Lieutenant even after learning his Bankai seeing that, all the captain position's were filled at the time of his achieving the new plateau of a Shinigami's powers. It wasn't until his own Captain of his division had grown much too old and, feeble to possibly keep his station, was Yashakoi considered to take the wizened Shinigami's place. After his captain had retired from being a captain, did the process of becoming captain begin. Although, it took much longer than he would've liked, Yashakoi was accepted and, given the honor of becoming captain of the fourth division.
