September Onohanae

---Few get what they deserve---

Shinigami Encyclopedia

--------------------------------------

Birth Name: September Onohanae
Shinigami Aliases: The Black Queen
Gender: Female
Age: 425
Birth Date: August 11th
Rank Status: Semi-Elite

Affiliated Division: 6th Division Lieutenant

Appearance:
September is a very tall, (6 feet, 2 inches) slender woman weighing in at only 115 lbs with long black hair past her waist with locks of hair that frame her face down to her chin, large breasts, a high forehead, and dark blue eyes that have long, voluminous lashes. Around the Seireitei or on official business, September wears a revealing black blouse with yellow trimmings that shows much of her chest and a form-fitting sarong that exposes some of her long, slender legs with the yellow symbol of Squad Six adorned on it and black platform heels. When on missions, she wears the traditional Shinigami garment, the Shihakushō. While many have elements of other coloring on their traditional wear, September has tweaked her's to be entirely black. It helps on missions, and she finds it to be very slimming. (Like she wasn't thin enough already). When in casual wear, September usually wears a red or blue blouse with either form-fitting jeans or shorts and a pair of flats that match the color of the blouse she is wearing at the moment.

Personality:
September is a classic example of a "Don't judge a book by it's cover" situation. Because of her regal appearance and emotionless, never-shifting eyes, she is often thought of to be a cruel and uncaring if one doesn't know her. This is not so. Underneath those blue eyes lies a sweet and caring woman who is willing to put her life on the line for those that she cares for. To all those around her, she is playful and kind, one of the most approachable Lieutenants to date. She is a friend to all in the Seireitei, her mere presence bringing smiles to people's faces. Along with her kind air, there is a calm and analytical one there as well. She tends to sit back and pick out the details in a situation before taking any drastic actions. This has served her and her Captain well over the years.

To her enemies, however, her kind smile fades. She becomes a cold, calculating opponent. It takes only one threat, one attack, one ounce of disrespect to bring about the Black Queen's wrath. She especially does not tolerate these things towards her Captain. Of course, it goes farther than feelings a subordinate would have towards his/her superior. Brago is much more than a Captain to September, and that is why she alone will always be at his side. She tolerates no other. If he is ever sent on a mission without her, September will be stricken with worry. After all, no one loves her Captain like she does.

Once Upon A Time

History:
Rags to riches. Happens more than you know. Especially in the Rukongai Districts. More than four hundred years ago, on a clear summer night, a new soul found it's way to the poorest district in all the Rukongai. A little girl with short, jet black hair and eyes that pierced even the coldest of hearts. The little one sat there, gazing at the stars as she wondered where she was. One moment, she had been walking with her Mommy along the sidewalk in the rain when a car came way too fast around the corner and was sent screeching towards them...the next, she was here. The little girl looked around and blinked. She was sitting on the edge of a river that receded into beautiful crisp water. The little girl stared down at the mirror-like surface until she saw the reflection of someone turning the corner. She scampered to her feet and ran up to the person who turned out to be a woman with straight, blonde hair. "Have you seen my Mommy?", was what the little one asked. The woman sighed and put a hand on the little girl's head. "I don't know, sweetie. I'll be your new Mommy, if you like!", she said with a warm smile. The little one decided she would stay with this woman until her real mother came.

She never did.

The little girl was taken back to a shack further along the road where she met a whitish blue haired boy named Brago. "This is September. She's new here", the woman said, emphasising the word new. The boy seemed to understand what the woman meant and immediately stood to his feet and offered his hand to the girl. "It's nice to meetcha!", he said simply as he shook her tiny hand. She nodded and shook his as well.

An inseparable friendship was born!

Inseparable, indeed. Brago and September stuck together like glue for their entire childhood. Wherever he went, she was right behind him. If he ever got in trouble, she was right there with him. Through thick and thin, it was Brago and September. Thirteen years passed for the duo and their adoptive mother. It all moved in a flash. Brago grew from a sproutly ten year old to a masculine twenty-three year old, oozing testosterone. September turned into a budding little flower, into a blooming orchid. Their mother would tell them often that she loved having been able to see the two of them grow up. It was unbearably sappy every time they heard it, but they still appreciated the words nonetheless. They lived uneventful and simple lives until one fateful day...

September and Brago had come back from the marketplace to find the door to their home ripped from it's hinges. The two gave each other a worried look before they rushed forward to investigate. Brago in the front, September right behind him. What they saw...shook them to the core.

Their mother lay there, barely alive. There were two men digging through their belongings on either side of the room who looked up at the newcomers. They didn't bother with words. The one closest to Brago moved forward with a  knife, but Brago was faster and stronger than him. While he tried wrestling the knife out of the man's hand, September watched as the other man raised his knife to strike at Brago in the back. For September...everything turned red. It was bad enough that their mother was hurt... but Brago. HER Brago. She leapt forward and tackled the man to the floor. In his surprise, he dropped his knife. September used her...superior chest weight to momentarily hold one of his arms down as she scrambled for the fallen knife. She picked it up for just one second before she felt a hand grip hers. The man below her froze. September looked up and saw Brago...with blood on his cheek. He looked at her and shook his head. He pointed his head towards their mother and then looked down at the man with the most terrifying look in his eyes that she had ever seen.

Needless to say that the man didn't live long after that.

Absolutely fed up with the life in the Rukongai, the two looked towards the Soul Academy for an escape. The two entered together and passed the entrance exam with flying colors, much to both of their surprise. However, from there on out, the inseparable pair started to drift apart. Brago immediately threw himself into Zanjustu training, labeling Kido to be useless. September, who knew they sword-skills were not her strong point, enlisted in Kido training instead. This set a block between the two friends for quite some time until September, who was embarrassed of her swordsmanship, relented to Brago to help her train in Zanjustu. The two's friendship rekindled during this time, however something else began to form as well. A bond deeper than friendship.

Flash-forward to a special and momentous day. Graduation. September awoke that morning with a special smile on her face. Today, a new chapter in her long life was going to open. And she was going to start it with Brago! Maybe, today, she could really tell him how she felt about him as well! September arrived to the graduation hall and took her place among her class. She sat patiently as the ceremony began and the names of each graduate were called. But when the announcer got the H's, her heart began to race. Brago was going up there any moment! Finally, the student right before him was called. A cheesy smile bloomed on September's face as soon as Brago's name was called. As looked around quickly trying to find him so she could watch him come up the steps. Mere seconds passed, but nothing happened. To September those seconds were hours long. Where was Brago?! The last time she had spoken to him he had been so excited about it! But...he wasn't there? September's face paled as she sat there. In was in shock so badly that she almost didn't even hear her own named called. She gathered what she could of herself and did the deed to get herself out of there. As soon as she was off the stage and around the corner, she disappeared.

Her feet didn't even touch the ground until she made it to his room. She opened the door, half expecting him to be asleep on his bed. Her heart dropped when she saw his room was empty...but all his belongings were gone as well. He wasn't gone... He left. On his own. He didn't say a word to her. He just...left. He left her with no goodbye.

It took a full ten years for September to accept Brago's disappearance. As time pressed on and years turned into decades, memories of Brago turned into fleeting dreams until she had almost forgotten about him altogether. She would rarely think about him because in her mind, he had to have died. That was the only explanation. The sensible way that he could just leave her would have to be that he had to have died. 100 years was too long to hold on...

In the year that September turned 125, a grand festival was held all around the Soul Society. September, who was the 3rd Seat of Squad 13 at that time, was told that they were welcoming back one of their own who had been deep undercover behind enemy lines. She had no idea who that could possibly be. The day went on and the festival drew forth. Everyone was having a merry old time. Closer towards the Northern district, the higher-ranked and seated officers were having a banquet with this "Hero". All the guests were called in by order of their squad, so she arrived last. When September's name was called and she stepped into the room along with many of her squadmates, September was frozen on the spot. Her eyes were glued straight forward in the "Hero's" direction. Her eyes, her body, her soul trembled as she laid eyes on this "Hero".

Brago.

His name escaped her lips as several people stood around her trying to see what was wrong. September broke out into a cold sweat almost instantly as a torrent of memories filled her mind all at once, overwhelming her. Brago.

Her Brago!

She collapsed. She didn't wake until two days later. And he was sitting right next to her when she did. His golden eyes reflecting in her blue. It was tedious and slow at first, but soon the two had rekindled and rebuilt their relationship to it's former state. It only took 300 years and they spent every minute of it with their hands together.
