| The Arrancar Race Arrancar: An Arrancar (破面 (アランカル), arankaru; Spanish for "To Tear Off", Japanese for "Ripped Mask") Arrancar are the result of Hollows removing their masks. However, an average Hollow removing their mask would not be a problem for the Gotei 13. To hold their own against the Gotei 13 the ones removing their masks would need to be Menos or stronger.The Generic term for an Arrancar is Shinigami-Hollow Hybrid. The Hollow Evolution The Menos Classifications: Menos are created when the void within an ordinary Hollow's heart becomes so substantial that Human souls are incapable of sustaining it, at which point it begins devouring fellow Hollows. These cannibal Hollows are attracted to one another, and a mass inter-devouring follows, resulting in a Gillian. Following this transformation, the Gillian can evolve twice more, first into an Adjuchas and finally into a Vasto Lorde, provided certain conditions are met. Menos evolution is not only contingent upon the Menos eating other Hollows, but also upon the Menos' ability to avoid being eaten. If another Hollow succeeds in devouring even a part of their body, evolution becomes impossible for the one which was wounded this way. Menos-class Hollows are considered so dangerous that Soul Society sends only highly trained Shinigami teams to handle them. These incursions seem to be rare, however, as Menos rarely leave Hueco Mundo unless attracted by large sources of spiritual power or encouraged to by other forces. There are three categories of Menos, the first is Gillian, the second Adjuchas, and lastly Vasto Lorde. Gillian (最下大虚 (ギリアン), girian; Japanese for "Lowest Great Hollow"), also called Menos Grande (大虚 (メノスグランデ), menosu gurande; Spanish for "Less Big" or "Big Minus", Japanese for "Great Hollow") are the first and weakest of all Menos. In human terms they would be considered foot soldiers. There are many of them and they all look alike. In Soul Society, they are the "Menos" that are generally referred to in textbooks. Gillians are huge, but they are slow and have beast-like intellect. Any Captain would be able to destroy them with ease. Adjuchas (中級大虚 (アジューカス), ajūkasu; Japanese for "Intermediate Great Hollow") are the second classification of Menos. They are smaller than Gillians and far fewer in number. However, they're much smarter and stronger than Gillians. They're often the ones who lead Gillians into battle. Adjuchas are commonly solitary creatures rarely joining into groups. They are powerful enough to challenge a captain of the Gotei 13. Vasto Lorde (最上大虚 (ヴァストローデ), vasuto rōde; Japanese for "Highest Great Hollow") are the third classification of Menos and the highest level of evolution. They are extremely small Hollows, roughly the same size as humans and are extremely rare in number. It is said that you could count their entire number within Hueco Mundo with only the fingers of your hand. The Vasto Lordes' combat capabilities are above that of the captains of the Gotei 13. This is not always the case, as there are Captains whose combat capabilities outshines that of a Vasto Lorde. Arrancar Physiology: The Arrancar race also shares the same make up as a Shinigami. Their Chain of fate is located in the same area as where a Shinigami's chain of fate would be located. {Uryū Ishida theorized Arrancar share not only the powers of Shinigami, but also their anatomy. During his battle with Cirucci Sanderwicci he aimed for the area where the Chain of Fate would be located, and upon striking it Cirucci immediately lost not only her release form and mask fragment, but seemingly all traces of her former power.} Zanpakutō: The Arrancar seal the nuclei of their abilities within the form of a sword. It is entirely different from what Shinigami use. When they release their Zanpakutōs' seals they unleash their true power and their true form.The combat efficiency of an Arrancar with a released Zanpakutō is increased several times over. Therefore, an Arrancar's release of their Zanpakutō is merely a temporary restoration to their former selves, granting them any powers their Hollow form possesses. The act of release is called Resurrección (Spanish for "Resurrection"), which is activated with a command phrase followed by the name of the sword. An Espada's Resurrección is nothing like that of a normal Arrancar. The Arrancar Powers Bala (虚弾 (バラ), bara; Spanish for "Bullet," Japanese for "Hollow Bullet") Bala is an Arrancar alternative to Cero. The technique hardens the user's Spiritual Pressure and fires it like a bullet. Although it is weaker than a normal Cero, it moves about twenty times faster and can be fired at a much higher rate, but the damage is much the same. Stronger Arrancar can also fire a more powerful Bala, while retaining its twenty-fold speed. Note: The Bala Technique can be used 15 times before a cool down of three posts. Cero (虚閃 (セロ), sero; Spanish for "Zero," Japanese for "Hollow Flash," "Doom Blast" in the Viz translation) are high-powered energy blasts that can be fired from various body parts, such as mouth, tongue, hand or fingers. Only Gillians, Adjuchas, Arrancar, and the Visored have so far been shown to use Cero attacks, and it appears that stronger entities can use it more efficiently. Various Arrancar and Hollow characters display variants of the technique, such as the Espada-exclusive Gran Rey Cero, the Cero Oscuras. Garganta (黒腔 (ガルガンタ), garuganta; Spanish for "Throat," Japanese for "Black Cavity") is how Arrancar and Menos-class Hollows move to and from Hueco Mundo. It literally tears open the dimensional fabric separating the worlds, revealing a tunnel of whirling, torrential energy that must be focused and solidified to create a discernible pathway. Hierro (鋼皮 (イエロ), iero; Spanish for "Iron," Japanese for "Steel Skin") refers to the hardened skin of the Arrancar, which is a result of their compressed spiritual power. While their skin is strong enough to block even released Zanpakutō bare-handed, it is by no means impenetrable. Stronger Arrancar generally have proportionally stronger skin than usual. Negación (反膜 (ネガシオン), negashion; Spanish for "Negation," Japanese for "Anti-Membrane") are energy fields are used to rescue fellow Hollows. Only the Gillian-class Menos have shown the ability to use it. Negación fields surround a target in a square beam of light that isolates the target from the dimension they are currently in, making it impossible to harm them. The field then pulls the target towards the Menos that created the field. Espada have a special cube-shaped device called Caja Negación (反膜の匪 (カハ・ネガシオン), kaha negashion; Spanish for "Negation Box," Japanese for "Anti-Membrane of Negation") meant to simulate Negación fields, which are used to punish their subordinates if necessary. The cube, when used on a subject, traps them in an alternate dimension from which there is no escape; however, this assumes it is being used as intended. More powerful Arrancar, namely the Espada themselves, can escape given enough time. Pesquisa (探査回路 (ペスキサ), pesukisa; Spanish for "Inquiry," Japanese for "Probe Circuit") is the Arrancar equivalent of the Shinigami ability to sense Spiritual Pressure. It functions very similarly to sonar. Resurrección (帰刃 (レスレクシオン), resurekushion; Spanish for "Resurrection," Japanese for "Returning Blade") Most Arrancar have the ability to seal their power within a Zanpakutō. Upon releasing their Zanpakutō, they gain all of their former unique Hollow abilities back, essentially 'resurrecting' their old selves. When using this ability, they essentially combine their human form and their Hollow form, incidentally increasing their power considerably. As another note, when an Arrancar uses his or her Resurrección, it heals all minor wounds. Sonído (響転 (ソニード), sonīdo; Spanish for "Sound," Japanese for "Sound Ceremony") is the Arrancar equivalent of the Shinigami Flash Steps and the Quincy Hirenkyaku; it allows the user to travel at incredibly high speeds for short distances. Use of Sonído is punctuated by a brief static sound, in contrast to the "swish" sound caused by Flash Steps. Gran Rey Cero - (王虚の閃光 (グラン・レイ・セロ), guran rei sero; Spanish for "Grand King Zero", Japanese for "Royal Hollow Flash") is a Cero that only Espada are capable of using. It is performed by mixing an Espada's own blood with the Cero. The result is a Cero with a much greater attack power and speed as well as a change of color unique to the Espada. It is also many times more powerful than a normal Cero, capable of disturbing the fabric of space, it also seems to spin like a razor upon release as it compresses and decompresses due to the sheer speed and raw power. Cero Oscuras - (黒虚閃 (セロ・オスキュラス), sero osukyurasu; Spanish for "Dark Zero," Japanese for "Black Hollow Flash") or more grammatically correct Cero Oscuro, is a black Cero which the strongest of the Espada can use in their Resurrección form. It covers any exposed light into pitch darkness. The Cero Oscuras' range is vast, and its attack power is massive. It is strong enough to destroy half of the dome over Las Noches. The superior Cero Oscuras is far greater than an average Cero. Espada: The Espada are the top-ranked Arrancar. Each Espada member is chosen for their superior combat ability and then assigned a number from 0 to 9 that does not indicate relative power level which is tattooed somewhere on their body, but rather the order of command. It is said that each Espada embodies an aspect of death, which ties into their personalities, beliefs and powers. Though this practice still occurs, it is not a guarantee.
The Espada are given control over the Números and are regarded as the strongest Arrancar in existence. Similar to the power gap between captains and lieutenants in the Gotei 13, the strength, speed, intelligence, and power of the Espada far surpasses that of the average Número. In addition, to further establish the chain of command in the more organized Army of Las Noches, each Espada is expected to take on responsibility in keeping the Números and each other in line.
The King of Hueco Mundo is THE leader of the Espada. All other Espadas (and thus their Fracción) and Números must heed the orders of the 'The King'. The Cero is the King/Queen of Hueco Mundo. The Primera Espada is generally the one who lead the Espada on a day to day basis under the King/Queen and is the next in command. The Segunda, Tercera and Cuarta Espada compose the next chain of command: Each are equal in authority, but MUST be heeded by anyone of lower rank. The Quinta to Decima form the last gap of authority in the Espadas.
(The Fracción are a subsection of the Números that directly serve a specific Espada. The number of Fracción for any given Espada varies. - -Level 1 – Capable of using at most 4 uses at a time before a 4 post recharge rate. At this level you are easily traceable to the naked eye, meaning people can sense where your Sonido is going. But that doesn't make it any less swift.Cost - 300 Experience
- -Level 2 – Capable of using at most 8 uses at a time before a 4 post recharge rate. A normal LT level Sonido move. Your untraceable to the naked eye, and a blur to any level ones. You are noticeable to any Level 3’s. Cost - 500 Experience
- -Level 3 – Capable of using at most 12 uses at a time before a 4 post recharge rate. A captain level Sonido mover, untraceable to anyone that isn't level 3, and a blur to level 2. Cost - 700 Experience
Specialists
- -Secuelas – Level 1 – A move that allows for the movement of great speed, much higher than sonido. Leaving behind an afterimage that can appear to take damage or even die. Can use twice a fight. Cost - 250 Experience
- -Secuelas – Level 2 – Same as above however this appears to take damage and leave behind a piece of cloth so it feels as though the opponent cut or hit. Even looking as if the move hit. This also increases your sonido to 18 times a before a 2 post recharge rate. Can be used 4 times a fight. Cost - 500 Experience
- - Gemelos Sonido – Level 1 – This technique allows the user to create clones, up to 5 afterimage clones. These clones are tangible and last up to two posts. After all five have been used there is a cool down of 7 posts. Cost - 250 Experience
- -Gemelos Sonido – Level 2 – The final stage of Gemelos Sonido, allowing the user to leave behind or create up to 15 afterimages clones, these clones are tangible and no amount of sensory can tell them apart from the real deal. They last five posts, once all 15 are used, a 7 post cool down is needed. Cost - 500 Experience
Reiatsu - Spoiler:
Reiatsu
- -Level 1 –The required amount of reiatsu to remove ones mask. This level allows for the basis of reiatsu, air walking to basic cero. Comparable to a Gillian level hollow. Easily detectable to those above you, no real control of ones reiatsu levels. No use of Pesquisa Cost - 300 Experience
- -Level 2 – This is the required amount of reiatsu needed to use pesquisa. Comparable to a fraccion level hollow. Hard to detect to those below you, but no so much that you are untraceable, as the finite controls over hiding ones reiatsu are not yet mastered. At this level able to use Bala. Cost - 500 Experience
- -Level 3 – The Espada Level, enough to bring any level 1 to their knees. This is what separates the boys from the men, espada from adjuchas. Undetectable to level 1, and hard to detect to level 2. Finite controls over ones reiatsu allow for suppression of it to a point of near non-existence. Cost - 700 Experience

- Average Spiritual Pressure: Those with an average amount of spiritual pressure are those of lower rank, such as 4th seat to unseated, lower level Arrancar etc. Those at this level are at a Level 1 stage in terms of Reiatsu.
High Spiritual Pressure: This level of spiritual power corresponds to those possessing an above average amount of spiritual power, which is finely controlled. This level of spiritual power is common among those of an average lieutenant rank and high ranked seated officers. Fraccions and such are also covered under this section. This covers a Level 2 in terms of Reiatsu.
Great Spiritual Pressure: This level of spiritual power corresponds to those possessing a large amount of spiritual power which is finely controlled. This level of spiritual power is common among those of a Captain rank. Alternatively, Espada, Stern Ritter and Elite Fullbringers. Lieutenants/3rd Seats, Fraccions, etc, can now look to take the next step to truly being one of the big boys. A Shinigami without a Bankai, is still not on par with a Captain.
Disclaimer: For Shinigami not starting out as Elite(Captain). They require a Level 3 in Reiatsu & Zanapakuto with one other combat style. They must have also mastered Bankai before thinking of parading on the same level as a Captain. Specialists-
- -Gonzui – Level 1 - Once an Arrancar defeats their opponent(s) in battle, they may use this skill to suck the soul of the dead defeated opponent(s) and consume the soul. Depending on the level of the opponent(s), can cause different side effects on the Arrancar using this skill. At this stage, one may only suck up LT level characters. Cost - 250 Experience
- -Gonzui – Level 2 - Once an Arrancar defeats their opponent(s) in battle, they may use this skill to suck the soul of the dead defeated opponent(s) and consume the soul. Depending on the level of the opponent(s), can cause different side effects on the Arrancar using this skill. Here is the levels and their side effects. These effects do not stack and end once used. At this stage, one may suck up any level characters upon defeat. Cost - 500 Experience
- -Negacion – The Arrancar will command a batch of many Menos Grande from the world of Hueco Mundo to save him or herself in other places in the worlds instantly. During this time, when the light shines down on their homed targets. Must be present in said dimension, as the menos hone in on you, engulfing you and your comrades in light. Cost - 150 Experience
- -Gargantua Screens -A visual broadcast similar to a television screen, created by using individual Garganta portals. Able to view and monitor parts of the dimension one is located, allowing the user to gleam fights, witness powers, and report findings. Cost - 250 Experience
- -Immense Spiritual Power – Visible Energy surrounds the user, taking a certain hue, it also comes with a form, like cat or skull. Knocks out anyone who is level one, and brings level 2 to their knees. [Reiatsu, Instant] Cost - 1000 Experience
Hierro - Spoiler:
Hierro
- -Level 1 – Extremely underdeveloped in this aspect, at this stage the Hierro is there, but totally unnoticeable to anyone above a level 1 in Zanjutsu. It doesn’t protect against anything. Cost - 300 Experience
- -Level 2 – Fraccion level hierro, developing control, and able to stop sealed weapons from Level 1 zanjutsu users. Kidou under 34 are negligible in terms of damage. Cost - 500 Experience
- -Level 3 – Espada level hierro, perfect mastery of one's hierro. Able to stop bankai sword attacks from level 2 zanjutsu. Kidou under 50 are negligible in terms of damage at this stage. Cost - 700 Experience
Specialists-
- -Bronze Skin – Level 1 – Due to the resistance of their hierro, they are able to extend the time it takes for affliction damaging moves to affect them. Adding 2 additional posts before it kicks in. Kidou up to 65 are negligible in terms of damage. Cost - 300 Experience
- -Steel Skin – Level 2 – Same as above however this adds an additional 2 posts for process of affliction damage. Meaning death occurs two posts later, loss of limbs occurs two posts later, as described in affliction technique. Kidou up to 75 are negligible in terms of damage. Cost - 700 Experience
- -True Warrior – Must have Steel Skin. On top of the additional affliction reduction, this also reduces damage done from kidou based attacks overall, by 10 levels. Which can turn a level 90 into a level 80, and so on and so forth. Cost - 500 Experience
- -Strongest Hierro– Must have Steel Skin, True Warrior, and level 3 Cero/Bala. A true master of hierro, able to proudly say your hierro is strongest. Kidou based attacks under 85 do no damage, kidou and kidou based attacks under 90 do considerably less damage (think normal 70 level). Finally, piercing damage has lost its effect, meaning just because they have it, it doesn’t mean it pierces your skin. (Unless it's within the level range stated) Cost - 1000 Experience
Cero/Bala - Spoiler:
Cero/Bala
- -Level 1 – The very basic cero knowledge and formation. As a standard energy blast, it consists of firing a powerful blast of concentrated spiritual energy at the target. While in most cases it is fired from the mouth, some Arrancar and Visored are capable of firing Cero from their hands, fingers and other parts of their bodies. One can only use basic cero twice before a 4 post cooldown, and fire off 6 bala before a 4 post cooldown.
The power of a Cero and Bala looks like this when judge according to Kido standards:

- -Level 2 – Advance knowledge in cero and bala formation. Uses less energy, and increases the amount capable of being fired. One can use basic cero 4 times , before a 3 post cooldown. They can fire off 10 bala before a 3 post cooldown.
The power of a Cero and Bala looks like this when judge according to Kido standards:
Elite/Upper Tier -Level 63 Cero- Level 35 Bala Semi Elite/Mid Tier-Level 45 Cero-Level 25 Bala Lower Tier-Level 35 Cero-Level 20 Bala Cost - 500 Experience
- -Level 3 – Those truly to be feared for their mastery in cero and bala arts. There cero is now strong enough to have its own color, and they can use the extremely powerful and unique cero/bala moves. One can use basic cero 6 times , before a 2 post cooldown, and fire off 14 bala before a 2 post cooldown.
The power of a Cero and Bala looks like this when judge according to Kido standards:

- -Cero Cortando – Arrancars may charge their Cero using their sword or weapon, and being able to fire it in a very wide ranging form, following the arc of the sword or weapon's swing. Must be a level 2 to obtain. Lasts for 6 posts, equal in strength to your basic cero level. Cost - 200 Experience
- -Gran Ray Cero – It is also many times more powerful than a normal Cero, capable of disturbing the fabric of space, it also seems to spin like a razor upon release as it compresses and decompresses due to the sheer speed and raw power. Must be a level 2 Espada to obtain. Has roughly the strength of kidou 86. Cost - 300 Experience
- -Cero Oscuras - The Cero Oscuras' range is vast, and its attack power is massive. It is powerful enough to shatter a vizard’s entire hollow mask and critically injure them in the process. It is strong enough to destroy half of the dome over Las Noches. The superior Cero Oscuras is far greater than an average Cero. Only those of level 3 Espada can possess such a powerful technique. Has roughly the strength of kidou 96. Cost - 300 Experience
- -Cero Doble – A variation of Cero, that works by swallowing an opponent's Cero and returning it back to the user along with their own Cero, making it more powerful. Depending on one's level does the effectiveness work. A level 1 can eat any basic cero and return it, a level two the same, only for level two, plus they can eat any custom cero and return it of a level one. A level 3 the same, only for level three, plus they can eat any custom cero and return it of a level two, and eat and return a GRC of a level two. CO is not returnable. Cost - 200 Experience
- -Cero Metralleta– Perhaps the most deadly, and sinister in the cero family. While not as powerful as say, CO or GRC, its numerous projectiles can cause major concern. The user is able to fire a barrage of Cero at their opponent. It fires roughly 50 basic cero’s, each with the strength mentioned in one's basic cero. Due to the extreme nature of this technique, one can use it once before a entire turn of nothing. Must have purchased all cero variations. Cost - 350 Experience
- -Bala Barrage– Firing off about 50 bala’s at an opponent, this technique can cause serious pain to an individual. Must be a level two to purchase, has a cooldown of 6 posts. Cost - 150 Experience

- -Level 1 – A Resurrección restores an Arrancar to its "true" form, resulting in significantly various increases in speed, strength, stamina, durability and spiritual power, as well as allowing access to both more powerful variations of previous techniques and completely new abilities. Roughly a numeros in terms of Resurrección prowess. Cost - 300 Experience
- -Level 2 – Those of this level are highly skilled. LT level, an expert swordsman is highly skilled using their Zanpakutō while sealed or in its released/Resurrected state. They are not as skilled or efficient as a master swordsman would be. However, it would be fatal to ever underestimate their sword/weaponry wielding skills. The speed at which an expert swordsman can strike will be noticeably slower compared to that of a master swordsman.. Can coat your sword in reiyoku to increase its cutting power so it can match a level 1 shikai.Cost - 500 Experience
- -Level 3 – They fight with a true instinct, having trained their body for this specific purpose. Arrancars of this level are just as efficient with their Zanapakuto as any other. The different variation of their sealed weapons doesn’t seem to affect their ability as a swordsman at all. This means, even with an Axe and spear and other weapons, an Arrancar will be on par with other master swordsmen. Espada level, when coating their weapon, it can match a level 2's bankai. Cost - 700 Experience
Specialists-
- -Segunda Etapa – Upon knowledge, this release is unknown to any being who is outside the circle of the Espada. It is a very well kept secret and a last resort for those Arrancars who have obtained its power. Its potential is stronger than a Bankai depending on the person using it. Though with a great divinity boost, there is a great sacrifice. Cost - 1000 Experience
- -Increase Counter - You may gain more counters per 2 missions completed and paying 75 Soul Points per 1 Counter Slot. Cost - 75 Experience
